Michelle Landry Must Resign and Force A By-Election in Capricornia

Michelle Landry, LNP MP for Capricornia must resign.  The Liberal National Party have now admitted they went to the election based on a blatant lie. Turnbull said he will bring back integrity to politics He must insist that Ms. Landry resigns today.

On 3rd February, I published Is the Defence Land Grab” Turnbull’s Carbon Tax Lie?  This article details the timeline and agenda through an analysis of press releases, Hansard, the Defence White paper and the Budget.

My timeline shows that the Liberal National Coalition either knew they were going to acquire land, or they are severely incompetent and had developed no contingency plan for the expansion to house the Singaporean Army at Shoalwater.

They say a week is a long time in politics. However two weeks have revealed two things. The first is that Peta Credlin admitted on national television that the Gillard’s carbon tax lie was just dirty politics made up by the Liberals and it was never a carbon tax.

The second is that Marise Payne admitted that the LNP knew before the election about the land grab.

Michelle Landry needs to admit that either she did not know about the land grab or she is incompetent. So incompetent that she did not inquire as to the impact of the Defence training deal on her own constituency.  For either one of these she MUST resign.

Although the Government has now backed down on compulsory acquisition, after protests and rallies; the electorate was prevented from voting on all the facts at the time of the election, due to dishonesty by the now Government.

Please Sign the Petition and Insist Michelle Landry Resigns. Force a By-Election in Capricornia.

  1. To expect a sudden “awakening of moral conscience” by Malcolm Turnbull is a bridge too far by half!..To expect any of his members to act outside his example and that of the LNP in general is certifiably delusional!..The entire last election platform of the LNP was a manifesto of falsehoods, confections, malfeasance and outright bullshit!..The current WA. govt’s cosying-up to One Nation has to be the “warming-up” for the Qld. LNP to do likewise at the next election.
All pretence of ethics and morality have gone out the window..Barnaby’s plead for only voluntary acquisition is but a stalling tactic until he can hand-ball it to “national interest” and it becomes a loyalty-to-the-country issue..like “terrorism”!
Good luck Trish..but if it was a choice of facing the LNP or The Truth, I’d take a packed lunch w/ a beer to meet The Truth, but I’d arm myself with a Bazooka to face the lying, untrustworthy LNP.

  4. I live in Rockhampton and have watched the Member take credit for projects started by Labour and more recently for the turnaround by the Federal Government re the land grab at Shoalwater Bay. Hell will freeze over before she makes an admission. She has quickly become adept at passing the buck and blaming others.

  5. Not only should Landry go but she should take her Deputy PM mate Barnaby Joyce with her.
When Bill gets elected PM the first thing he needs to do is shove a breathalyser on the front steps of Parliament
This drunken idiot Joyce needs to be sent to dry out .
This little exchange yesterday from Hansard is well worth a read so Trish I hope you don’t mind me wating space

    Hansard 14/2/17

    Tony BURKE
My question is to the Deputy Prime Minister. Yesterday in question time, the Deputy Prime Minister ridiculed anyone who received preferences from the Greens political party. Given that the WA Nationals have now retaliated against the WA Liberals by cutting a deal to preference the Greens political party ahead of the Liberals, does the Deputy Prime Minister stand by the answer he gave in this place yesterday? Is he now determined to just ridicule himself for the sake of consistency, and every other member of the WA National Party?

The SPEAKER: I am ruling that question in order. It referred to yesterday’s answer.

Barnaby JOYCE (New England—Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources) You would think he might about the Murray-Darling Basin Plan—you would think that he might ask me a question. Not a chance! All we get is a stand-up, pogo-stick comedian coming to the dispatch box to talk nonsense.

But what I do know about polling, and I do know a little bit about polling, is that I know about Mr 22 per cent over there—22 per cent: that is what they give him! They give the Leader of the Opposition 22 per cent. And I know the member for Grayndler: you are one of our biggest supporters, aren’t you? You are watching us. We are doing a good job for you, aren’t we? You are getting ready. You are getting ready—you are lining them up.

    Ms Plibersek interjecting—

Mr JOYCE: The member for Sydney does not like me saying this. Do not worry—you will be next! If the Leader of the Opposition fails, you will be next. You are gone—you will sit back there. The member for Grayndler will come to sit up here and the member for Sydney will go over there. It is all going to happen!

There are a couple of others back there—you there might come forward. The member for Whitlam never really was here, so he will go back! It really does not matter, you can see what is happening: you are done and dusted, old mate—the Leader of the Opposition. You are done and dusted. You are all over, ever since you decided that all elections were created different and that there were certain elections that are better than other elections—

The SPEAKER: The Deputy Prime Minister will resume his seat!

Mr JOYCE: Don’t you want me to—

The SPEAKER: No, I want you to sit down! The Manager of Opposition Business on a point of order?

Mr Burke: On a point of order, Mr Speaker: I refer to page 505 of Practice, which reads:

Although there is no specific rule set down by standing order, the House follows the practice of requiring Members’ speeches to be in English.

The SPEAKER: The Manager of Opposition Business is warned!

    Government members interjecting—

    Opposition members interjecting—

The SPEAKER: Members on both sides will cease interjecting.

    Mr Rob Mitchell interjecting—

The SPEAKER: The member for McEwen will leave under 94(a).

The member for McEwen then left the chamber .

The SPEAKER: The Manager of Opposition Business has been warned. The Deputy Prime Minister has the call. He is halfway through the answer, and I am judging his preamble has been lengthy but it is coming to an end.

Mr JOYCE: I have to say, Mr Speaker, he is a very funny man, the member for Watson. We know what is wrong with the member for Watson: he wants to be in the story. We have not even given him a chance. But even we know that you, Leader of the Opposition, have not got a chance. You have got no chance at all.

If they really want to talk about who is preferencing who, I would say that the member for Sydney is preferencing the member for Grayndler. The member for Grayndler is definitely voting against the member for Maribyrnong. I would say that your chances of hanging round here for another six months are around about zero.

The SPEAKER: The Manager of Opposition Business is warned!
